We work hard to give back to the community:

TAG – The Technology Alliance Group is a Washington non-profit corporation that promotes, advocates for, and helps build technology businesses in Northwest Washington.  TAG is also the Northwest Washington partner for the Washington Technology Industry Association (formerly WSA).  Jack Grant served for eight years as a Director, Corporate Secretary and Chair of the Advocacy Committee for Whatcom, Skagit, San Juan and Island Counties

Bellingham/Whatcom County Chamber of Commerce – Jack served as a Chamber Board Director for three years

Port of Bellingham – In 2003, Jack ran for election as a Commissioner of the Port of Bellingham. His election platform included the recommendation that  the Port take control of the abandoned Georgia Pacific pulp mill site located on the Bellingham waterfront.  The goal was achieved just a few years later when Georgia Pacific traded the site for the Port taking responsibility for environmental clean up.  This single act of the Port has offered the Bellingham community a never-to-be-repeated opportunity to redevelop over 100 acres of waterfront lands on Bellingham Bay

Grape & Gourmet – Jack Grant acted as Chair of the Restaurant Committee during the initial two years (2004-2005) of “Grape & Gourmet” – Bellingham Bay Rotary Club’s annual fund raiser showcasing local wineries and restaurants

Local Government Initiatives – Jack Grant has counseled citizens in initiatives to work with local governments – for example:

  • to help streamline the building permit and inspection processes
  • to coordinate public and private stakeholders working to improve railroad facilities and crossings, and help alleviate noise and safety concerns (through the use of Railroad Quiet Zones, etc.)
